Gommage, or no Gommage?

I would recommend...to gommage from time to time! At least once a week or when you think you need one. For the past months, for the gommage session, I have been using these two, each for different reasons.

The Clarins, Smoothing Body Scrub is great if you want a perfectly clean scrub type of product, which you use after your normal shower gel or cream or why not mixing them up and apply them together, your shower gel with your scrub product. And, just massage it in! It contains bamboo powders, which is very handy if one has rough, flaky skin to work with. Then you will get the clean from the shower gel/cream and the scrub will just offer you a soft, smooth and in the promotion it says firm as well, but I would recommend some gym time for a visible firming skin! If you get my point...

The L'Occitane, Shower Scrub is a cleansing and exfoliating in one. Which for me is genial. And the smell is great for both men and women, so its a safe one to have in the shower for a non-flowery smell type of person as well. It leaves a light, fresh scent to the skin.

Both are great products, but the one that I find myself reaching the most is the L'Occitane one, because beside cleansing, scrubbing my skin, it does not leave it with a dry feeling. I usually follow it, either with my Avene balm (which I talked about in this post) or with my Lush Body Conditioner (about which you can read in this post).

I am all about clean, scrubbed and hydrated skin! Who isn't?

Try these products in-store or purchase them online from sites like amazon (Clarins, L'Occitane).

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Elizabeth Arden 8 hours cream has been a cult since 1930s and is famous as a soothing and moisturising skin protectant lotion today.

I have been using it for almost 3 years and is the cream that I use daily, all seasons and it has made my life easier.

You cannot go wrong with it, as long as you go for the fragrance free one.

I use this balm mainly for lips, I have not had dry lips since I bought this one, it is the only cream that I take with me everywhere, on the sky slopes, on the beach, I have one in my purse all the time.

I add shine to my cheeks and I apply it on dry patches as well. In winter, I also use it to calm my skin after being in windy, snowy weather.

It definitely is a all purpose product, because it can also be used on browns to keep them in place, use on cuticles to keep them hydrated and smooth, it can smooth rough heels and soften soles for barefoot beauty. Isn't it wonderful. I totally understand all the awards that it received over the years!

If you want to read how it come to be names 8 hours cream, check out this link.

Try it at any Elizabeth Arden counter in your city. It can also be purchased online from feelunique.com.

La Roche-Posay: Effaclar Duo

I have dry skin all year around, but as far as I noticed I am prone to blemishes as well.

Have struggled with all kind of anti-blemishes sticks and creams, until I read about this product from La Roche-Posay, Effaclar Duo and decided to give it a go.

This bottle is magical!

You will need nothing else than this, if you suffer from blemishes from time to time. In the beginning I started using it after cleansing, in the evenings and mornings all around my face. After just 1 week, my skin was cleared.

At the moment, I am using it, just when needed and mostly locally, on the existing blemish or on the area which looks like something might appear during night. It is incredible when used as a preventive tool, I do not know exactly how it does it, but I do call it my magical cream!

It does what it promises, its unclogging blocked pores, correcting the appearance of blemishes and refines the skin texture. Non-sticky, non-oily finish which creates an excellent base for make-up.

I purchase mine from the local Pharmacy, in Copenhagen, but it can be purchased online from Amazon as well.

Masque Creme Fraiche

What would a girl do without her face masks?

I have been using this one from Nuxe all over my face, daily as night treatment. Masque Creme Fraiche de beaute is a 24h soothing and rehydrating fresh mask.

It contains plant milks and white blossom, and have to say that it smells divine. It makes you relax to the depth of your souL! It's like having an aromatherapy session every time you use it. Totally addictive!

It's my new favourite thing for a good night sleep.

It can also be used just for 10 minutes for quick results.

I still use the Ultra repair instant oatmeal mask from First Aid Beauty, that I talk about in this post for when I need an instant result and have no time to spare.

I purchased mine in Magasin store in Copenhagen, but I checked for online options, and it seems it can be ordered from Amazon as well.

Hair system kit for voluminous hair

As most girls, I am also a big fan of Victoria Secret yearly fashion shows (my favourite one is from 2008)!

On one hand, it keeps my motivation high for training (those girls have amazing bodies) and on another hand, it also pushes me to continue the search for the best hair products that could help me achieve a nice voluminous hair! These girls have awesome looking hair.

Have been trying the Nioxin HAIR SYSTEM KIT for the past year and I am pretty happy with it. It has different ranking system for intensity, and after reading about it I decided to go for No. 6 (the highest intensity available in this range).

It's a 3 step program that has been formulated to strengthen and thicken each individual hair strand. Sounds fancy no? This means lots of volume, and it definitely delivers it!

The treatment consists of 3 products which are designed to be used together: the cleanser (a deep cleansing shampoo), the scalp revitaliser conditioner (which I use to massage my scalp and I also add a pea sized amount on the ends of my hair) and a scalp and hair treatment mouse, a leave-in treatment.

After using these products together, you hair is hydrated and has plenty of volume to help one get its hair in the shape she wants!

I bought mine from a salon, but here are other options that I found online: amazon and lookfantastic.

Tangle Teezer anyone?

No, it's nothing naughty about this, I am just talking about a brush!

Tangle Teezer Detangling Brush or THE brush, as it has been called in my house for the past few months.

I recommended it to my girlfriends as well, and they all seem to like it as much as I do.
I used it on my niece's curly hair and her reaction was: "I like it more when you brush my hair, than when mommy does. You do not hurt me". I was surprised to hear my 10 years old niece talking about her pain when her hair is being brushed.

I had this brush for the past 1 year, and I do not go anywhere without it. I take it with me when I am traveling, going to gym, going to sleep at my friends house, you name it. I ordered another one, just to have one in my bathroom at all times!

Tangle Teezer its known for its unique bristles configuration (man look at it and think its for brushing animals, you could use it, I think, but buy a different one, do not share yours). Those bristles are flexing upon contact with tangles, making brushing your hair easy and stress free on both wet and dry hair. The handle is designed to fit in the palm of your hand.

I am also happily using it after I am curling my hair, just to open the curls and give them a soft feel.

In my humble opinion, I would urge all girls (I heard that men love it as well) to go and purchase one of these brushes, as you can see on their website it comes in all possible colours. What else could a girl wish for?!

I ordered mine from Amazon.co.uk

Waterpik for cleaner teeth and gums

I always had problems with my teeth and only when I was 28 years old I decided to wear braces in order to improve my teeth situation.

I opted for lingual braces for more than one reason. The lingual braces are hidden behind your teeth, so nobody can see them, just the user can feel them, you can see the results on the day to day basis, because you have a direct view to your teeth, the appliances and wires are custom made for your own teeth, they are very comfortable after your tongue gets used to the foreign objects in your mouth, off course I could say a lot of things about this procedure, but this post is about something that was really helpful in keeping my teeth and gums clean during this process.

Anyone that had braces (the lingual ones or the outside ones) knows that using a toothbrush is not enough. It is not easy to floss while having the braces on.

Besides your regular (every month) appointment with your orthodontist, you have to go as often as needed (recommended every 3 months) for a professional cleaning and having your teeth checked at your general dentist.

Easier said than done.

This is why this product came as a saver for me!

I have chosen the Waterpik Water Flosser (WP-450). I find it ideal for the time when I had braces, but also right now when I just want to have my teeth and gums feel completely clean and fresh. Its ideal for those that do not like to floss and anyone with braces, implants, crowns, bridges or periodontal pockets. This model is a cordless one, so its ideal for traveling as well.

Waterpik Waterflosser provides a unique combination of water pressure and pulsations to massage and stimulate gums, and remove plaque and bacteria deep between teeth and below the gumline where traditional brushing and flossing can not reach. Having tried the Philips Sonicare Air Floss, it made me understand why I like the Waterpik so much. Its because it has a continuous water flow and this makes cleaning teeth and gums way easier and could say gentle than the compressed air and high speed water droplets used by the Philip's product. Its a different experience, that is for sure!

I bought my Waterpik, just after 1 year of wearing braces, and it definitely changed my life, my teeth life and gums for sure. My orthodontist was surprised of the results, even only after 1 month of use and my normal dentist asked me if I cleaned my teeth recently somewhere else. When I told them that I had my professional cleaning 5 months before, they thought that I am joking.

No, and its all because of the amazing Waterpik Water Flosser.

I recommended it to some of my friends, that I heard complaining about their gums and/or teeth and they all said its a great product.

I ordered mine from Amazon.co.uk. It comes with 4 tips. Each of them is specially designed for specific problems, but have to admit that I use which ever I have available in the house, but this is my favourite one.

I have had my lingual braces placed in Denmark at Becktor.
